The separation of India & Pakistan were made at midnight on August 15, 1947. However while India commends that day as its autonomy day, Pakistan praises its freedom day a day prior. Why is it so?
Even Pakistan also celebrated its first independence day on Aug 15 th. but late on the years it’s move to one day before i.e on Aug 14th
Reason 1:
The night of 14–15 August 1947 coincided with 27 Ramadan 1366 of the Islamic calendar, which Muslims regard as a sacred night.
Reason 2:
Pakistan’s Independence Day is commended on August 14 and India’s on August 15, in light of the fact that in 1947 the services for the exchange of energy were held a day sooner in Pakistan, with the goal that the last British Viceroy, Lord Mountbatten of Burma, could go to the functions in both Pakistan and India.
